BagStyles -- Custom Made

The style of bags that I've made are shown below. Scroll down to determine if one of these styles is just right for you. These are usually one of a kind so getting one exactly like the photo depends if the fabric is still available.

Where ever I go I look for a fabric store. I've found the best fabric in Alaska and Indiana! I'm willing to do another road-trip!

Birdie Sling Bags

This pattern by Amy Bulter is a great carry-all bag. My niece uses hers as a diaper bag. I use it as a gym bag. This bag has 1 large pocket divided into half and 1 smaller pocket on the inside.

Cost: Starting at $65 and up depending on the selection of fabric.

Chiefs Tote

With this pattern, I added inches on all sides to make it a tote that easily carries a notebook binder. Two pockets on the inside.

Dimensions: 12 1/2" tall x 14 1/2" wide

Costs: Starting at $35 and up depending on the selection of fabric.

Grommet Bag

Grommet bags are made with two or three different fun fabrics. A great little book tote also. It has a flat bottom so it stands alone. The handle can be made to tie or sewed together using rings.

Dimensions: 11" wide by 10" deep by 3 1/2" deep.

Costs: Starting at $32 and up depending on the selection of fabric.

Frenchy Bags

This is a fun purse using an Amy Butler pattern. The inside has 4 pockets that everyone loves. It has a magnetic closure.

BagBeginnings

I have learned what works and what doesn't when it comes to making bags. I use fabric that is 100% quality cotton. My preference is the designer fabric such as Michael Miller, Amy Butler and such likes. I use alot of interfacing, some iron-on and some sew-in, for stablity and the best look. For some bags such as the Birdie Sling, I use fusible fleece. This makes a totally different bag with the totes also. I take the time to double top-stitch the handles, around the bag and even the pockets. I use magnetic closures on especially the Frenchy Bag. On the Grommet Bag, I am now experiencing with different handles. I like trying new designs. Keep an eye on this blog for the latest.
